Main Task- Review

After finishing and publishing our project, we asked a friend to give it a review. We asked a 17 year old girl, which is the age range of our target audience.

Second Draft- Survey Results

Before publishing our final piece, we made a draft. The reason for this was so we could make final improvements in areas of weakness. The results are as follows: 

Overall rating was: 90% of participants gave the piece a 5 out of 5

Sound quality and music usage: 100% 5 out of 5

Credit placement: 90% 5 out of 5

Transition smoothness: 90% 5 out of 5

Would you watch on: 100% yes

Improvements listed:

• Spelling error
• Put the ident at the end
• And the first half has continuity errors (MONIQUE AND LAUREN FEATURE IN IT)

Film- Final Part- Problems that occured

During the course of filming our final part, we came across many problems, that we will need to take into consideration for future filming.

First of all, filming at a bus stop, there were members of the public standing around, and frequently came into the shots. Because of this, we decided to wait a while, and this put filming back by a couple of minutes.

A lot of the POV shots had a lot of background noise, which will need to be taken out during the editing process.

Finally, when the filming took place, it was very bright outside because of the hot weather. For a horror movie, it will have to be made a lot darker, again during the editing process.

Film- Final Part- What did we do?

Having a checklist of things we needed to do, we were able to film relatively quickly before we lost the natural lighting outside, as we did not want to film in the dark.

First of all, Amber used her special effects makeup to create cuts and bruises on herself; and used other makeup to make herself look creepy and old. We then  asked my Dad if we could use his axe.

We then went outside, and filmed Monique and I leaving my house, and walking down the road, towards the bus stop.

 We then had an over the shoulder shot of the bus times on my phone, and then use walking up through the woodland.

We then used the snap of a twig next to the camera, which made us turn round.

Amber then screams from behind the camera, whilst I am doing a POV shot.

Finally, the CCTV shot, and the last POV shot of myself facing Amber, will end the piece.

Fianl Script

Music Plan- What are we using

We wanted to use a song that would be close to Bring Me the Horizon's 'Hospital Of Souls' as it is up beat and would build up the tension in most of the scenes. One of our friends tried to re-create it, but it sounded too similar, and we decided not to use it due to its original copyright laws.



In the end,we decided to research copyright free tracks, and found a track that was suitable for the piece, which we are allowed to use.

We have now also got rid of shots 6, 7, 8 and 9 as the party scene made the project look more like a trailer than an opening sequence.

Lots of problems

During the period of time leading up to filming the final part, all of the boys that were meant to be in our piece, dropped out due to college and work schedules. Because of this, we had to change the story line of our piece, and try to find people that would replace them.

Unable to find anyone. we decided to change what we were doing completely, and just use the people in our groups as the characters.

Starting to Film- Change to Second Part

After editing our 'Party Scene' it became apparent to us, that it did not look realistic enough, due to the lack of people participating, the sound and the lighting. Due to this fact, we changed our location so that we were able to incorporate resources that were available to us, such as a sound system and a lighting deck.

When we finished filming, we discovered that it was a good decision to re-shoot, as the shots came out so much better, and the 'party' itself looked much more realistic.
